The western edge of the primary disaster area is visible as the road travels toward the horizon, and mounds of rubble lie in that area. St. John’s Hospital is still standing a few blocks further to the south. Notice that there are few standing power lines and that there are no buildings still standing in that commercial area near 32nd Street. Broken trunks of trees are still visible.
